Delhi HC mandates Biometric Aadhaar Authentication for all GST Registrations Nationwide

Delhi High Court on noting the rampant misuse of innocent persons’ PAN and Aadhaar details for fraudulent GST registrations, has directed all authorities across the country not to allow GST registration without biometric-based Aadhaar authentication. The Court permitted the authorities to place any practical difficulties in implementation before it and directed them to examine additional anti-fraud measures suggested during the proceedings. The matter has been listed for further consideration on 22 September 2026.
